When Deena, Tessa’s mom, told me that I just HAD to do her daughters senior photos I was so excited! Deena is so down to earth, kind, loving, and cares about everyone and everything she comes across. I just knew Tessa would be the same! She studies at the Arts Academy in the Woods Class of 2019. She loves earthy tones, tap dancing, painting, drawing, playing the guitar, reading, writing, and singing (which she has the loveliest voice)! Tessa is what you call an old soul born in the wrong time period. She has the most beautiful smile and kindest heart! I just loved getting to know her during our session together.
We traveled through Stoney Creek Metropark in Rochester Michigan for her high school senior session. I knew that the grassy, open field, and beach type would fit her personality and props perfectly! A lot of what I have learned is that props aren’t needed for senior sessions but honestly as a photographer it allows me to be creative, bring something new to my portfolio, AND is a customized Marena Claire Senior Experience you can’t get anywhere else! It makes the photos that much more unique and special to my seniors!
Tessa’s first outfit fit so well with her tap shoes! It was the perfect combination of classy, cute, and chic in one. I love the texture the leaves and flowers make in the background! Tessa was so natural and radiant during her session and did amazing!
For Tessa’s second outfit she chose a flower printed shirt with long overalls and the sweetest braid in her long hair! I loved that we used the open field with the yellow flowers for this outfit because it fit SO perfectly. If this isn’t the definition of what I love in a senior I don’t know what is!
Tessa brought along her art supplies and some paintings for this part of her session! I loved seeing her creations and being able to capture her with them.
For Tessa’s last outfit she wore simple sandals and a mustard yellow summer dress. She chose to bring her guitar to the lakeside beach part of her session. I loved getting detail shots of her playing with her guitar! She is such a natural!
I love giving my seniors the chance to bring along someone they want photos with. That can be their mom, siblings, significant other, dog, or even immediate family! It’s important to not only capture the memories from senior year but to capture them with the person/people who mean the most to you during that time. For Tessa that’s her mom, Deena! They both are radiant & I’m so happy to have gotten to know them!
