I know Sarah from college and I was so excited when she reached out to me last year to capture her and Gavin’s wedding September 2019! As most of you know I had decided to move to Virginia this past March. When I told my bride about the move she was nothing but graceful and happy for us on our big move! I was so thankful for her understanding and reassured her that this would change nothing about her wedding! It actually was the PERFECT thing to happen because it made way for their destination spring engagement session at the national mall in Washington D.C!
Sarah and Gavin had one of their first adventures in D.C together when they weren’t even dating yet! So Sarah and Gavin traveled from MICHIGAN with Gavin’s sister to capture some amazing portraits of them on the national mall! This was also my first opportunity to travel to D.C and see the capitol! It was unbelievable and a trip to remember. They battled MANY runners on the Lincoln Memorial, flying in from Michigan very late at night for their sunrise engagement session (6:15am), and so much humidity! They did amazing for all the things they did for this session. We got to capture their memory of being there for the first time not dating and now when they are so close to them being husband and wife!
I’m so excited to travel back to Michigan this September for their wedding! The Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, and the reflecting pool are such amazing spots for photos! There are so many amazing locations there but we decided to focus on the ones that meant the most to them:)Enjoy some of my favorites from their destination Washington D.C spring engagement session, I had SUCH a hard time picking my favorites!
